Day bookings

You can hire the whole lodge or part of it. We would encourage a visit to the lodge to see what will suit your needs.

Please see the lodge accommodation tab for details of the separate floors. If hiring the lodge mid-week term-time you are able to just hire the main hall and kitchen at a reduced rate. This also gives you access to the grassed area in the front of the lodge, and the veranda. By arrangement, this could also include the Lady Mayhew woodland to the side of the campsite.

Evening bookings

There are also opportunities for local Girlguiding units to use the campsite area for evening events during mid-week term time. Access to all of the campsite facilities, including the campfire areas would be available for you to use. By agreement with the neighbours, the woodland is a “quiet area” from 9:30pm. To take part in this trial in 2025, we are asking a nominal fee of £10 per unit for the evening hire.

During Autumn increased bat and owl activity at dusk can provide a unique opportunities to take part in wildlife evenings. Our bug hotel and wildlife area, between the lodge and ARC, is creating a lot of additional visitors to the site during this summer and will become a haven for them during winter months. Various boards around the grounds show details of birds or trees, which can be used for trails.

In September 2025 we will be introducing our new challenge pack based on Hippy the hippo on the front garden. The pack will be downloaded from this website and badges are available for you to collect on arrival.

We encourage units to come and take part in making bird feeders or other animal based activities which can them be used on site. If you have any ideas, please discuss with Rachael our manager. Local Ranger units are also welcome to join us for ‘work events’ – checking tents, painting fences and anything else you can think of! This is the home of GGN and we need it to be welcoming to all our members – now and in the future!
