Lodge accommodation

Parking and other shared areas

Patteson lodge estate comprises more than one site, so please be aware that others may also be accessing shared areas.

The car parks at the site are reserved for different areas.

  • As you enter the driveway the parking on the left, is for anyone visiting the ARC.
  • In the main carpark, please park against the lodge windows or next to the kitchen if you are staying in the lodge.
  • If you are using the campsite, please park in the main carpark, facing the field fencing.

Campfire circles.

  • One is within the campsite and is only for use by the campsite.
  • The second site is in Lady Mayhew woodland and can be shared or used exclusively by the lodge. If you are camping and wish to use, please discuss with the lodge occupants.

Front garden

  • Mainly reserved for the lodge users, occasional events taking place at the ARC  will involve visitors within the area immediately around the ARC.

The mosaic trail covers the whole of Patteson lodge estate. If you are visiting when either the lodge or the campsite is in use, please ensure that you are not disrupting their event when you complete the trail!

A total of 50 beds are available in the centre – 34 downstairs and 16 upstairs.
In 2026 we have made some changes to the bedrooms downstairs. The room labelled as the admin office is, once again, a single bedroom. The first aid room can either be used as a single room or reserved for when a first aid room is needed.
In November 2026 the lodge will close for approximately 4 weeks for the bathroom upgrades to take place.

Ground Floor

The centrally heated building has large areas to heat – please follow the instructions in the welcome book to increase heating levels. Increasing the heat does take time, because of the large areas – you can help speed this up by closing doors to rooms, and only turning up thermometers in areas in use. We are applying for grants to change the style of heating to a more efficient and affordable option.

Internet password is in the welcome booklet.

Indaba room

This room could be used for crafts or extra sleeping accommodation for 12 people and contains the following equipment:

  • 4 Go Pak tables and fold up chairs
  • 12 futon mattresses
  • bedside cabinets
  • Coat hooks at the far end of the room

There is a fire escape at the end of the Indaba room.

Please note if you do not hire the whole lodge, Indaba could be used for meetings during your residential event.

Only Girlguiding Norfolk members would be in the meeting or training and would only run between 9:00am to 6:00pm. Leaders would only access the room via the fire escape and would not need to interact with your event.

Any arrangements will be discussed with you further when you make your booking, if you choose to hire with less than the minimum number.

We have made this decision to ensure that the lodge is affordable for smaller units. By working together with you, we can ensure we reach the minimum income needed, but without impacting on your residential event.
